FEMALE PELVIC (TRANSABDOMINAL)
Service Description
A transabdominal pelvic ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic imaging study that uses high-resolution ultrasound to evaluate the female reproductive organs: uterus, endometrium, ovaries, fallopian tubes (if visible), and adjacent pelvic structures, such as the bladder and the pouch of Douglas. This examination is performed through the lower abdominal wall, without the need to insert the transducer into the vaginal cavity, making it a safe, comfortable, and painless procedure, especially useful for young patients, virgins, or those who cannot tolerate the transvaginal approach. During the study, the size, shape, and structure of the uterus, endometrium, and ovaries are analyzed, identifying abnormalities such as: Uterine fibroids or endometrial polyps. Ovarian cysts or masses. Signs of endometriosis or pelvic inflammatory disease. Menstrual cycle irregularities or abnormal uterine bleeding. Infertility evaluation or ovarian follicular monitoring. Monitoring of gynecological or post-surgical treatments. Most frequent clinical indications: Pelvic or lower abdominal pain. Irregular or heavy bleeding. Suspected cysts or fibroids. Endometrial or ovulatory cycle monitoring. Routine or preventive gynecological evaluation. Preparation: It is recommended to arrive with a moderately full bladder. Drink 3 to 4 glasses of water one hour before the examination and avoid urinating until the exam is finished. This allows for better visualization of the uterine and ovarian structures. The procedure is short, guaranteeing diagnostic accuracy and reliable clinical guidance. 📍 Book your pelvic ultrasound and get a complete evaluation of your gynecological health with the safest and most modern technology.
