Service Description

Musculoskeletal ultrasound of the hand is a dynamic, high-resolution study that allows real-time visualization of the tendons, muscles, joints, ligaments, synovial sheaths, and soft tissues of the hand. It is a fundamental diagnostic tool for studying pain, masses, stiffness, or functional limitations, especially in patients with trauma, overuse, or rheumatological diseases. During the examination, a detailed evaluation of the most important anatomical structures is performed: Flexor and extensor tendons of the fingers. Synovial sheaths and palmar plates. Metacarpophalangeal and interphalangeal joints. Collateral ligaments and capsular structures. Digital nerves and subcutaneous tissue. This examination allows the identification of: Tenosynovitis and tendinitis. Partial or complete tendon ruptures. Synovial cysts or ganglions. Ligamentous or capsular injuries. Foreign bodies (bones, metal fragments). Rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory joint changes. Soft tissue infections or abscesses. Most frequent clinical indications: Pain or stiffness in the fingers or palm. Localized swelling or swelling. Presence of a palpable mass or cyst. Suspected tendon rupture or injury. Diagnosis or monitoring of rheumatoid arthritis or gout. Wounds with suspected foreign bodies. Sports or work-related hand injuries. Advantages of the study: Does not use radiation. Allows for high-resolution evaluation of small structures. Allows for dynamic and bilateral comparative examination. Ideal for post-surgical or therapeutic follow-up. Preparation: No fasting or special preparation is required. It is recommended to arrive without creams or lotions on your hands. The study is performed with high-resolution ultrasound and may include color Doppler mode to assess inflammatory or vascular processes. 📍 Schedule your musculoskeletal hand ultrasound and get an accurate, fast and radiation-free diagnosis for joint or tendon injuries.
