SHOULDER ULTRASOUND (UNILATERAL)
Service Description
Musculoskeletal ultrasound of the shoulder is a dynamic and non-invasive study that allows for real-time evaluation of the shoulder's articular, tendinous, and muscular structures. Using high-resolution ultrasound and color Doppler, this examination provides a detailed view of the rotator cuff, tendons, bursae, and glenohumeral and acromioclavicular joints, making it essential in the diagnosis of sports, degenerative, or traumatic injuries. During the examination, a systematic evaluation of the most relevant structures is performed: Supraspinatus tendon (most frequent site of rupture). Infraspinatus, subscapularis, and teres minor tendons. Long head of the biceps tendon. Subacromial-subdeltoid bursa. Acromioclavicular and glenohumeral joints. This study allows for the identification of: Acute or chronic tendinopathies. Partial or complete rotator cuff tears. Subacromial-subdeltoid bursitis. Bicipital instability or dislocation. Tendon calcifications. Joint effusions or synovitis. Most frequent clinical indications: Shoulder pain or limited range of motion. Sports or work-related injuries. Suspected rotator cuff tear. Post-exercise inflammation or pain. Post-surgical or post-injection follow-up. Diagnosis of painful shoulder, subacromial impingement syndrome, or impingement. Advantages of the study: Does not use radiation. Allows for real-time dynamic evaluation. Detects small lesions not visible on X-rays. Ideal for therapeutic follow-up or post-rehabilitation. Preparation: No fasting or special preparation is required. The patient should arrive with the shoulder area free of creams or lotions. The results include images and a detailed radiology report, ensuring a reliable diagnosis and precise guidance for medical or physiotherapy management. 📍 Schedule your musculoskeletal shoulder ultrasound and get a clear and reliable diagnosis for your joint or sports injuries.
