Musculoskeletal ultrasound of the elbow is a dynamic, non-invasive, high-resolution study that allows for real-time evaluation of the tendons, ligaments, muscles, bursae, and joints that make up the elbow joint complex. It is an essential tool in the diagnosis of sports injuries, work-related overuse, joint pain, or local inflammation, offering detailed information without radiation exposure. During the examination, a systematic exploration of the main anatomical structures is performed: Extensor and flexor tendons of the forearm. Lateral and medial collateral ligaments. Olecranon bursa. Humeroradial, humeroulnar, and proximal radioulnar joints. Ulnar nerve in its epitrochleo-olecranon canal. This study allows for the identification of: Lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) or medial epicondylitis (golfer's elbow). Tendinopathies or partial tears. Olecranon bursitis. Ligament injuries due to sprains or overuse. Ulnar nerve neuropathy. Joint effusion or synovitis. Most frequent clinical indications: Localized elbow pain or limited range of motion.
