HIP ULTRASOUND (UNILATERAL)
Service Description
Musculoskeletal ultrasound of the hip is a non-invasive, dynamic, and high-resolution study that allows real-time visualization of the muscular, tendinous, bursal, and articular structures of the hip region. It is a fundamental tool for diagnosing hip pain, sports injuries, bursitis, tendinopathies, and synovitis, providing precise images without exposure to ionizing radiation. During the evaluation, the most relevant anatomical structures are analyzed: Gluteal tendons (gluteus maximus, medius, and minimus). Trochanteric and iliopsoas bursae. Psoas and rectus femoris tendons. Hip joint. Inguinal region, adductors, and adjacent muscular structures. Ultrasound allows for the identification of: Trochanteric or psoas bursitis. Gluteal or rectus femoris tendinopathies. Muscle or myofascial tears. Synovitis or joint effusion. Tendon calcifications. Overuse injuries or nerve compression (piriformis syndrome, lateral femoral cutaneous nerve entrapment). Dynamic evaluation of hip clicking or instability. Most frequent clinical indications: Lateral, anterior, or inguinal hip pain. Difficulty walking or rotating the leg. Suspected bursitis or tendinopathy. Sports injuries or overuse injuries. Treatment monitoring or rehabilitation. Evaluation of inguinal masses or hernias. Complementary study of joint pathology or post-surgical recovery. Advantages of the study: Does not use radiation. Allows for bilateral dynamic and comparative examination. Ideal for early diagnosis and follow-up. Complements MRI or X-ray with functional information. Preparation: No fasting or special preparation required. It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing that allows exposure of the hip area. The study is performed using high-resolution ultrasound and may include color Doppler mode to assess inflammatory or vascular processes. 📍 Schedule your musculoskeletal hip ultrasound and get a reliable diagnosis for your joint, tendon, or bursal injuries.
