Service Description

Venous Doppler ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic study that allows for the evaluation of venous circulation in the upper or lower limbs, analyzing the presence of thrombi, valvular insufficiency, and venous flow abnormalities using high-resolution ultrasound with color and spectral Doppler technology. This examination is the method of choice for diagnosing deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and for assessing varicose veins, venous reflux, or chronic circulatory problems, providing precise anatomical and functional information. During the study, the main veins of the lower limbs (femoral, popliteal, great and small saphenous, tibial, and peroneal) or upper limbs (subclavian, axillary, brachial, basilic, and cephalic) are analyzed. Venous compressibility, patency, flow direction, and valvular competence are evaluated, allowing for the identification of acute thrombi, recanalization, and pathological reflux. Most frequent clinical indications: Pain or swelling in arms or legs. Suspected deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Presence of varicose veins or heaviness in the legs. Discoloration or persistent edema. Pre- or post-venous surgery evaluation. Monitoring of treatments for venous insufficiency or thrombosis. Monitoring in patients with a history of DVT or risk factors (prolonged travel, immobilization, contraceptives, pregnancy, etc.). The study is safe, painless, and radiation-free. It provides essential information for the clinical and therapeutic management of venous diseases, preventing complications such as embolisms or varicose ulcers. Preparation: Fasting is not required. Comfortable clothing that allows for easy exposure of the limbs is recommended. 馃搷 Schedule your venous Doppler study to effectively prevent and treat your circulatory problems.
